This is an annual “in house” thing that H.O.G.® Chapter 9003 does every
year (some more than others). Some hard ridin’ members leave us in the
dust most years, but hopefully we have everyone report their year end
mileage for our Annual High Mileage awards. For those not familiar, we
present the High Mileage awards every year at the Christmas Party. There
are 3 categories; Men’s, Ladies, and Retired. The Chapter also has a very
special “Joe Collinson Award” for the member that puts on the most miles.
Joe has been an exemplary example over the years of what it means to “get out
there and ride ‘em” and has led us by example. See if you can keep up to his
mileage!!!
For all classes, members can only enter one of ‘em. The only condition is
that if you’re retired you must enter that class and not the Men’s or
Ladies. People that have more than one bike (eh?) should report the mileage
on all their bikes (and the HD designation e.g. “’03 FLSTCI”) if they have
more than one. Miles or kilometres doesn’t matter; we’ll convert ‘em for
the yearly tally.
We ask that all members report their start mileage during the winter or
early spring, or if the end mileage was reported before the Christmas party,
that’s your start for next year. If you join the club late with a used bike,
call in your end mileage anyway, and it will be your start mileage for next
year. If you bought a new bike, we’ll start ya at zero and go with what ya
got when the snow flies. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE LAST DAY TO REPORT YOUR
MILEAGE IS OCTOBER 31. YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK FOR THE CURRENT YEAR’S AWARDS
AFTER THAT DATE!!! If we get the weather and you are still riding after that,
good on ya, but that mileage will count on next year’s total.
As an alternate to myself, contact any member of the Executive and give ‘em your numbers.
